Mary Jessen

Senior Client Director

Growing up, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. I loved writing, telling stories and talking an awful lot…just ask my kindergarten teacher. It wasn’t until I went to college that I learned about the whole wide world of public relations, and I guess you could say the rest is history.

Since graduating from UW-Milwaukee, I’ve lived and loved the agency life in Milwaukee, working on a range of clients from hospitality and home furnishings to plastics and pest control. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed all areas of public relations, with key areas of expertise including: content strategy and message development, thought leadership campaigns, crisis communications and reputation management, influencer marketing, product and brand launches, grand openings, and national event activations.

Whether it’s high-level brand strategy, executing on the details, or reporting on the insights, I appreciate and value each step of the journey. In the ever-changing world of PR, I encourage my teammates to bring fresh ideas and clever solutions to keep our efforts smart, strategic and fresh for all audiences.

I believe in building strong relationships, developing trust with clients and media, and helping connect the two to tell meaningful stories. I’m passionate about fostering teamwork and mentoring, and I just can’t get enough of color-coded spreadsheets, post-it notes, and alliteration.

When I’m not at work, I’m either chasing my two boys, redecorating every room in my house, eating delicious home-cooked meals from my lovely husband, or watching true crime documentaries. I love desserts of any kind, dogs of any kind, and travel of any kind, though if I had to pick, my two favorite vacation destinations are Iceland and Croatia.
