Too slow, too thin and unable to “go to my right” (I’m a lefty), a career in the NBA just never materialized. Luckily, a career in communications doesn’t require defending LeBron James or shooting over Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Not unlike a pro athlete, however, I’ve worked in different places and have enjoyed a variety of different experiences. I’ve been with my current team here at Mueller Communications the longest – more than 10 years.

Over that time I’ve enjoyed working with a variety of clients from industry sectors that include health care, retail, legal services, travel, insurance, technology and manufacturing.

My go-to move is media relations based on skills developed over 15 years in the newspaper industry working as a reporter and editor, covering everything from sports to straight news to business.

Developing and implementing media plans for organizations and individuals, I have secured positive coverage with local, regional and national media outlets. Additional work experience includes developing and executing comprehensive communications plans for internal and external audiences along with crisis communications plans and media training.

During timeouts from the game here at Mueller Communications, I enjoy time with my wife and 16-year-old daughter. No surprise, I also enjoy watching and participating in a variety of athletic activities. A proud UW-Madison grad, I avidly follow Badgers sports teams.

With that, the shot clock is ticking. Time to make the next play.
