Supporting a Healthier World for All

Project Overview

Mueller Communications works actively with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) to help elevate the organization and its leaders in their pursuit to advance a healthier world through local, state and national media. Additionally, we develop and drive efforts to position MCW positively with community leaders and influencers, cultivating them into advocates for the organization.

The Challenge

MCW seeks to elevate its organization and its leaders throughout local, state and national media as well as develop and drive a strategy focused on positioning MCW positively with community leaders and influencers, cultivating them into advocates for the organization. The third largest medical school in the nation, local residents and leaders often weren’t aware of the quality care, medical breakthroughs, global research and medical education taking place right in their own backyards.

The Solution

Media Relations:

The Mueller team assists MCW in responding to media requests and positions Dr. John Raymond and other MCW leaders as our community’s most prominent guides through the recent pandemic and ongoing health care environment. The team focuses on innovation in health care, breakthrough research originating from MCW, how health impacts the economy and the organization’s work to fight health disparities and inequity in our community.

Influencer Campaign:

The Mueller team also supports a parallel campaign to raise awareness at a deeper level with key influential leaders and decision-makers in Southeast Wisconsin, whose support is critical to the organization’s future. Mueller Communications has been key in developing and supporting this campaign by securing and coordinating presentations and outreach with the region’s most active business and commerce organizations, as well as small group and one-on-one opportunities to reinforce the importance of MCW to the vitality of the region and the state.

Social Media:

To engage the public and continue to build trust around science and research, the Mueller team developed and launched a social media campaign called “science says” that features MCW expert physicians and researchers answering common health and COVID-related questions. In the post-COVID era, the series will pivot to continue to highlight innovative research, products, treatments and applications that have emerged from MCW.

The Results

MCW leaders have been featured in the media thousands of times over the past several years of the campaign and have been honored with awards from organizations like the Milwaukee Business Journal and TEMPO. MCW experts also were featured in multiple local, state and national speaking engagements that demonstrated innovative research happening at MCW and how it is improving life in our communities each day. Post-pandemic, MCW and its leaders have emerged as the trusted, local source of health and medical information in Wisconsin, Dr. Raymond having been referred to as “Wisconsin’s Dr. Fauchi.”
