What is
On the Table MKE?
Launched in 2017, On the Table MKE is an annual effort coordinated by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation (GMF) to inspire as many people as possible in Milwaukee, Washington, Waukesha and Ozaukee Counties to gather in small groups, all on the same day, to share a meal and engage in meaningful conversation about what we must do — individually and collectively — to improve the quality of life in our community.
Understanding the need to be creative in attracting individuals to participate in and engage with the effort, and seeking to have participation and action grow year-over-year, GMF turned to Mueller Communications to launch and sustain the On the Table MKE effort.

Mueller Communications leveraged a holistic approach to communications and outreach that drove participation and ensured On the Table MKE was top of mind among key audiences. From paid and earned media placements to organic and paid social media, video production and marketing efforts, to designing launching and managing the initiative’s web presence, including its website and registration platform, Mueller Communications has been a key driver in the initiative’s success and achievements.

The event has been extremely successful year-over-year, the results speak for themselves:

Since its launch in 2017, the annual event has far exceeded expectations and has included hundreds of conversations between more than 5,000 + individuals. In 2019, the number of intentional-collaborative conversations grew over the 2018 numbers.

In 2019 alone, the more than 40 earned media placements garnered a total reach of 9.8 million.
Social campaigns, including a video campaign designed and implemented by Mueller Communications, resulted in 44,950 people reached in the Milwaukee area and 3,606 clicks from Facebook to the registration page.
Though the stats are impressive and point to the success of Mueller Communications’ efforts, the greatest measure of success is the community dialogue generated at and from On the Table MKE conversations. In 2019, discussions promoted 27 applications to GMF to fund community ideas and actions that would address key issues facing our community.
