Hi, I’m Maya Fidziukiewicz! (My last name is very Polish, pronounced Fid-jew-kiev-itch.)
Growing up, I was the classmate who would be “hired” to meticulously edit my friends’ papers or the one designated to make group presentation slides aesthetically pleasing. Eventually, I earned the reputation of being the artistic grammar Nazi. You can imagine how well that nickname worked with my proud Polish heritage...
As I attended UW-Madison, I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate my desire of working with people, my love of writing and innate creativity into my career. I was blessed with a wide spectrum of interests that were cultivated through experiences at summer camp event coordination, digital marketing internships and writing for publications. For a long time, I struggled to figure out how a multi-passionate person could pick just one thing to “specialize” in… Selecting a profession initially felt like I had to limit fun from pursuing the career of my dreams.
Enter: Agency life. A beautiful area of compromise where I can marry my love of writing and design in my daily tasks. Where I can work with clients in a wide range of industries – from consumer products to educational institutions to city tourism – all in one day. Where I can apply my otherwise-ridiculous standards for grammar and aesthetics that I’ve had instilled in me since childhood. Yup, this is where the crazy people went, and this is where I knew I was meant to be.
Outside of work, there is not enough time in the day to satisfy all my passions and interests. You will likely find me outside running, exploring a state park, cooking a new recipe, spending time with Jesus, making tea for my friends, learning a language or packing my suitcase for a spontaneous trip. Every day is an opportunity, so I live each moment to learn something new!
